Information
about our upcoming "Falls Prevention Classes" was mailed in the November
newsletter and is available online.
Older adults who fall are
THREE TIMES more likely to need nursing homes or long term care. In early 2009, CHUM will
offer a day-long falls prevention class. We’ll offer the class six times.
The class
is free and includes lunch.
Learn how to fall safely.
Learn how to prevent falls. Learn how to increase your flexibility, balance and
strength at home (and get free stuff to help you do that). Receive helpful tips
about medications, physical screening, foot care and more. If you’re over age
50, or know someone who is, you don’t want to miss signing up for one of these
classes. |
 |
The
November "CHIMES" is on-line! The birthday/anniversary list and the monthly prayer
list have both been moved to
become part of our
daily on-line calendar. |

Incubator group CCCinco is pleased to announce that they will be sharing
their incubator space with Service for Peace. This organization is about
helping others by pulling a work force together with peace as the ultimate
goal. What better way to work for peace than to serve? Please visit their
web-site for more information:
www.serviceforpeace.org. CCCinco Executive Director Charlene Williams
adds, "GOD is and has blessed us more than we can think or ask for through
CHUM. CHUM, please continue to obey the calling that GOD has given you." We
wish both groups well as they venture into this new partnership. |
Older news (from 2007):
 |
We thank all of our congregational leaders and team
members for the loving work and the talents they have shared with us
throughout the year. Your reports during the Charge Conference on
October 21st were truly inspiring.

 |
Our thanks to all who participated in this year's
Health Fair on October 13th! We'll post pictures soon. We rejoice in the new connections
made, the fellowship over food, the time of Healing Worship, the many
vendors who provided information, services, testing and flu shots
on-site, and the wonderful folks from the community who came and enjoyed
the day with us. May God continue to bless each of you. |

On September 28 we had our
second Prayer Flag event in the

first "Prayer Flag" event in
the parking lot. Check out these beautiful hands and prayers. Also, the
Courier-Journal has just published a lovely
photo-essay of the August event, with a focus on the "seed-spitting"
portion of the evening. |
